VIVE Tejano, Inc. Is a non-profit advocacy group whose purpose is to improve the quality of life for the Tejano culture; and to provide a forum for greater understanding of its traditions, people and music. VIVE is purposely capitalized to give Tejanos empowerment in living the experience of its Mexican heritage along side its American origins. VIVE Tejano, Inc. was formed in 2006 and is based in San Antonio, Texas with chapters in Austin, and Houston. Mission - To be a catalyst for growth of the Tejano culture through its music, political presence and Tejano influence. Education will help strengthen Tejano music recognition as an original American art form and promote its authenticity. Archiving and preservation efforts will maintain its historical value and better understanding for the sentiment of tradition for generations to come.
